Future Nano Efforts
API Nanotronics will invest significant capital into nanotechnology research and development. Nanotechnology R&D aims to understand and create improved materials, devices, and systems that exploit the physical, chemical, and biological properties of materials at the nanoscale.
Why nanotechnology? By building “from the bottom up,” with every molecule in a desired position, nanotechnology enables significant increases in material strength, durability and flexibility. It allows rapid prototyping by portable manufacturing appliances that produce their own weight in high-quality output every day. Benefits also include lowering production costs, increasing the efficiency of existing technology, and producing cleaner, safer and smarter products--products that are better built and longer lasting, due to their specialized construction.
The company's Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Martin Moskovits, is among North America 's leading nanotechnology experts and is the former Dean of Science and Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of California , Santa Barbara. He brings significant research experience and industrial leadership to his role at API. Dr. Moskovits¹ expertise includes the area of nanoscience and nanotechnology with special emphasis on nanosensors. Dr. Moskovits is also known for developing porous anodic aluminum oxide as a template platform for nanotechnology. |
