STEVE PUDLES, CEO
Mr. Pudles brings more than 25 years of electronics industry experience to API Nanotronics. Most recently he served as President and CEO of Nu Visions Manufacturing and Executive VP of OnCore Manufacturing. Previously, he has held senior management positions with Tanon Manufacturing, Electronic Associates, IEC and Restor Industries. He has been a member of IPC's Electronics Manufacturing Services Industry (EMSI) Council since 1988; was an original member of the Assembly Market Research Council (AMRC) Steering Committee; and was the Chairman of the IPC Taskgroup that created the IPC-D-326 document defining the "Documentation Requirements for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies." He also serves on the as Secretary/Treasurer of the IPC and is chairman of the EMSI Management Council. Steve has a Masters of Science in management and a Bachelor of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
PHILLIP DEZWIREK, Chairman
Phillip DeZwirek is Chairman of API Nanotronics Corp. and founder, Chairman of API Electronics Group, a manufacturer of electronic components and systems for the defense and communications industries. He founded API in 1981 and has led the company through ten acquisitions making it a consolidator in the industry. Today API has a growing list of blue chip customers, including the U.S. Department of Defense, Honeywell/Allied Signal, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and Boeing and owns state-of-the-art manufacturing and technology centers in the U.S. and Canada.
In addition to his position with API, Mr. DeZwirek is also Chairman and CEO of CECO Environmental Corp., North America’s largest independent pollution control company. Mr. DeZwirek has grown CECO from $200,000 in revenue in 1991 to over $100 million in 2006.
Prior to API and CECO, Mr. DeZwirek was a founder of Bata Resources in the 1970s, consolidating numerous oil companies in Alberta and eventually merging with Pan Ocean Oil on the New York Stock Exchange, making him the only CEO to take a company from the Vancouver Stock Exchange to the New York Stock Exchange. The company was later sold for $250 million to Marathon Oil, which is still listed on the New York Stock Exchange and has a market cap of over $30 billion.
Mr. DeZwirek sits on the boards of and has numerous investments in many public and privately held companies.
THOMAS MILLS, Director, COO and President
Mr. Mills has worked in the electronics industry since 1967 and has specialized in semiconductors since 1969. His management career has spanned production control, production manufacturing, quality control and assurance, program project operation and operations. Mr. Mills has been with API since 1981.
CLAUDIO MANNARINO, CFO
Claudio Mannarino, age 36, became our Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance on the effective date of the Business Combination. He holds the same positions with Nanotronics Sub and has had the same positions at API since 2004. Mr. Mannarino has over 10 years of professional accounting and finance experience. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Ottawa and is a Certified Management Accountant.
Mr. Mannarino spent three years as Controller for two divisions of GTC Transcontinental, a Canadian publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. After three years in roles with progressively more responsibility at GTC he joined a Project Management Company as a senior accountant, whose role centered on developing long-term business strategies and improving business practices.
In addition to his role at GTC, Mr. Mannarino started his own business in the construction industry in 1994, which he successfully grew and then sold in 1999.
Mr. Mannarino joined Filtran Group in April of 2000. From April, 2000 to 2004, he was controller and manager of human resources and IT at Filtran Group. He was named CFO and VP of Finance for API in 2004. His responsibilities include managing the financial reporting function for API, and the finance, human resource and IT departments of the Filtran Group. Mr. Mannarino has also gained experience in business acquisitions specifically related to due diligence activities and has carried out several cost reduction initiatives at Filtran Group. Mr. Mannario has no other outside business activities.
ARNOLD MARKOWITZ, VP Sales
Mr. Markowitz has over 20 years of specialized experience in sales and marketing of electronic components and corporate management of electrical and electronic component manufacturers. He graduated from New York University in 1981.
From 1981 through 1984 he was employed as an account executive and sales manager for Tec Electronics a data communications equipment manufacturer and distributor in New York. From 1984 through 1987 he was a territory manager for Tritech Electronics / Bittan Associates an electronic component distributor/representative in New Jersey. From 1988 through 1998 he was worldwide sales manager for Sussex Semiconductor a manufacturer of semiconductors in New Jersey and Florida. From 1999 through 2002 he was a principal in and General Manager of Edal Industries, a manufacturer of semiconductors and electronic assemblies in East Haven, Connecticut.
Mr. Markowitz joined Filtran Group joined in October 2002 as Director of New Business Development. He became General Manager in July 2004.
ROBERT ALINI, Director of Operations
Mr. Alini has been involved in semiconductor manufacturing for over 22 years. His background includes management positions in process engineering, production control, quality control assurance, project management, water fabrication and plant management. Prior to joining API, Mr. Alini was Operations Director for Semtex, Inc. and President of his own semiconductor manufacturing company. He holds a degree in electrical engineering and is also MCSE certified.
DR. MARTIN MOSKOVITS, Advisor
Professor Moskovits is the Dean of Science and Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He also has significant academic and industrial leadership and research experience. Dr. Moskovits’ research expertise includes the area of nanoscience and nanotechnology with special emphasis on nanosensors and is also known for developing porous anodic aluminum oxide as a template platform for nanotechnology. He serves as Vice Chair of the U.S. Department of Energy Basic Energy Sciences Advisory Committee and was a member of the DOE advisory committee on the establishment of the DOE’s five nanocenters. Dr. Moskovits helps the company identify new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, possible technical licenses and new investment opportunities.
JASON DEZWIREK, Director
Mr. DeZwirek has been with API since 1994. In addition to senior management roles with other public companies, Mr. DeZwirek has an extensive background in business management and the Internet. He is a founder, Director and CEO of Kaboose Inc. (TSX:KAB), the largest independent family focused online media company in the world. In addition, Mr. DeZwirek is a director of CECO Environmental Corp. (NASDAQ:CECE), an air pollution control company.
DONALD WRIGHT, Director
Mr. Wright has served as a Principal of, and as a Real Estate Broker with, the Phillips Group in San Diego, CA, which has operated as a real estate developer and apartment building syndicator since 1992. He has extensive experience as a realtor including positions with Prudential Dunn Realtors of Pacific Beach, CA and One Source Realty GMAC. Mr. Wright has also served as a director of CECO Environmental Corp. since 1998, including a seat on the Audit Committee as well as the Committee established to administer CECO's stock option plans.
ARTHUR CAPE, Director
Mr. Cape has served the manufacturing industry for over 30 years. Since 1991 he has served as Director of International Sales for Shymac Innovative Marketing, located in Montreal, Canada, and Director of Sales for AJB Continental, located in San Antonio Texas. Shymac Innovative Marketing manufactures brushes and AJB Continental is a distributor of brushes. Mr. Cape also acts as a consultant for several factories in China in the manufacturing and injection molding of plastic articles. Since May 25, 2005, Mr. Cape has served as a director of CECO Environmental Corp. (NASDAQ:CECE), an air pollution control company. He has also served on the Audit Committee of CECO since such date. He has been active in youth awareness programs and has served on various youth committees in Canada.
JONATHAN POLLACK, Director
Mr. Pollack is the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Kaboose Inc., an online media company servicing the children and family markets that trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:KAB). From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Pollack was President of The JMP Group, a strategic and financial advisory firm to numerous private and public companies. Prior thereto, he worked in investment banking in New York. Mr. Pollack is currently a director of Lifebank Corp. (TSX-V:LBK). Mr. Pollack received a Masters of Science in Finance from the London School of Economics and a Bachelors of Commerce from McGill University. He is involved in several philanthropic organizations and is the Vice Chair of Leadership at the Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Ontario and is Chair of the Crescent School Foundation, Toronto, Ontario. |
